Austria’s numerous open-air museums are an impressive reproduction of the rural and agricultural life of past centuries. Historically important buildings were dismantled from their original sites, and reconstructed at the museum’s locations. These museums can function as historically valuable sets for filmmakers and photographers. As some of the museums close in winter, it is important to find out when filming can take place well in advance. Proof of insurance from the production company is required.
