Filming in public buildings, parks and green spaces

For filming in public buildings (e.g. schools, kindergardens, and hospitals), in green spaces and parks, permits are required and need to be obtained from the appropriate city adminstration two weeks before filming starts.
At times, municipal garden offices are responsible for issuing permit to film in green spaces and parks. Filming is possible as long as park regulations are observed.

Filming in Federal Gardens
In Vienna, the following parks and gardens are under the authority of the Federal Gardens Office: Schönbrunn, Belvedere, Augarten, Burg- and Volksgarten as well as the Palm Houses in Schönbrunn and the Burggarten.
Filming is generally approved if conducted during the day. Some of the above mentioned locations cannot or can only partially be closed off for filming but arrangements can be made to arrange after hour filming. Fees for permits depend on the extent of the shoot. The Butterfly House in the Vienna Burggarten is open for filming during regular opening hours with limitations on restricted area or after hours. No fees will be charged when screen credits are granted.
The Imperial Gardens and the park of the Ambras Castle in Innsbruck also belong to the Federal Gardens Office but are administrated locally. The 250-year-old Music Pavilion in the Imperial Gardens is a special attraction that can also be used for filming.
